In 2007, I asked Martin Lund if he would be my piano teacher.  He asked: "What are you trying to accomplish?"  I said: "I want to write better songs."

Since then, my life has changed more than I could have imagined or feared.  Through it all, music has been there. So have my family, friends and the Orcas Island community.  For most of this time, my wonderful wife Cristine was with me too, and she inspired me throughout.

As you listen to these songs, I hope you hear, see and feel some of what I've been privileged to learn from my "early lessons."

Side of the Road Lyrics

She makes love to find you / You still hide away / She laughs as she asks / “What’s my name?” / Safe once again / Still best of friends / Time to get on with your day / The last time she found you / You nearly let go / You broke down / And both dropped some tears / What brought you so close / What you wanted the most / Looked in and then disappeared / Take love for granted / Love will get cold / While you sit by the side of the road / What if you wake up / And find yourself free? / Where anything goes / Your time’s your own / Will you regret / The space in your bed? / Think you can make it alone? / Take love for granted / Her questions won’t hold / As you sit by the side of the road / Take love for granted / She’ll soon let you go / Don’t sit by the side of the road.

Take Me Home When You Go Lyrics

Party’s great! / Thanks for the ride / There’s your friend / Have a good time / I’m fine so / Just let me know / But take me home when you go. / Go ahead / Have a ball! / I’m OK / I’ve got my wine / I’m fine so / Just let me know / But take me home when you go / I’m just fine / But take me home when you go / Tell me / What this game is / Am I losing? / ‘Cause I’m all in / Tell me / What this game is / Am I losing? / ‘Cause I’m all in / I’m not sore / Not at all / Having fun / Lost track of time / I’m fine so / Just let me know / Take me home when you go / I’m just fine / But take me home when you go.
