James and Cristine moved to Orcas Island in 2007. Cristine had retired from her clinical psychology practice in Philadelphia. James' work in education reform came with him to the island. James and Cristine embraced what Orcas Island offered – physical beauty, a giving community and opportunities for service.
Cristine passed away suddenly at home in July 2012. Over the past two years, she has looked over James’ and Martin’s shoulders as they finished this album, and she's with each of you as you listen to these songs.
